Dairy products are banned from supermarkets in the wake of the NSW Government’s ban on dairy products.

The ban comes after a state of emergency was declared in New South Wales.
The State Government said it would be banning all dairy, butter and milk products from Australia and the rest of the world, including China, from 2020.
The Government says this ban is necessary to protect the health and welfare of Australian consumers and the environment.
It has been in place for the past few weeks, but is due to be lifted on Thursday, according to a statement from Walmart.
“As part of the temporary suspension, we will be conducting a review of our products in Australia,” Walmart Australia said.
“This review will include the safety of our supply chain and how we will ensure the safety and quality of our dairy products in future.”
We will be working closely with our supplier suppliers to ensure they are following our safety protocols, as well as ensuring they are meeting our food safety and environmental standards.

Some people have reported that they cannot buy dairy-based products at supermarkets, like the supermarket chain Walmart, despite the fact it is a major supplier of dairy products to many Australian supermarkets.
